Greetings to our Members,

My name is Myra Joseph and I am serving as your Chapter President. I also serve as the Urodynamics (UDS) Specialist Interest Group Leader on the National Level. This is a group of clinicians who perform UDS and network with each other periodically with troubleshooting questions. Just go to the SUNA.org website and look up “Special Interest Groups” and ask away. I hope that you take the time to view this website and share with other professionals in the wonderful field in Urology and also promote membership. Don’t forget to tell them to put you down as the one who recruited them to SUNA. Prize monies and pins are awarded to those bringing in new memberships. We welcome your input and suggestions. You may go to, Alamosuna.org and e-mail us. We are always looking for new ways to promote Urology education.

Currently we are looking to increase our membership, as it has declined recently. I would like to thank those of you who continue to renew your support through your membership. I invite those of you who are not members to join today. There are many benefits to becoming a member. You received current updated Urological Educational material via the web. SUNA has turned green recently. You also have countless opportunities to network at local and national conferences. Certification is available to those who are interested in this endeavor. Scholarships are available as well. Urodynamics Certification is currently being looked at and a committee has been appointed to get started with this process. To become a member today go to SUNA.org.

If anyone out there is interested in working with a bunch of fun loving, committed, hard-working and organize people we are currently recruiting members to be part of the Alamo SUNA Board. We generally meet once a month and break for the summer. Our goal is to plan upcoming Annual Conferences, Educational Meetings, Dinners and promote community awareness in Urology. We are always looking for speakers to speak at our meetings, so we welcome all suggestions that will be reviewed by the planning commitee for approval.

I would like to extend a special thank you to our board and members who volunteered to work the Alamo SUNA Chapter Host Table at the Annual Conference. The Annual Conference was held here in the Alamo City this year. Our chapter provide light snacks for three days, Heart shaped fans with our logo and theme, “Deep in the Heart of Texas” printed on each fan and promoted membership to everyone.
